Don’t look now, but South Buxton Raceway’s Canadian Fall Shootout is just around the corner!
After taking a one-year hiatus in 2013, the Shootout is back – bigger and better than ever.
The 2014 Shootout will be a two-night extravaganza.
On Friday, Sept. 26, there will be hot laps and preliminary heat races for the Modifieds and Late Models.
South Buxton’s Mini-Mods will be joined by Ohsweken’s Crate Sprints as the support classes.
The big night is Saturday, Sept. 27, with the ‘B’ Main qualifiers and the 2014 Shootout feature races for the Modifieds and Late Models.
The Sport Stocks will be the support class.
The rain date, if necessary, is Sunday, Sept. 28.
There is a special two-night ticket package as well as single-night admission (please go to the Shootout icon on the home bar for complete admission prices for the weekend).
There is also raw camping (no water or hydro hookups) for $20 for the weekend.
The Shootout started in 2005 as a Late Model show.
The Modifieds were added as an official class in 2008.
Blenheim’s Andrew Reaume is a three-time Late Model Shootout winner, including two in a row in 2009 and 2010, winning again in 2012.
Chris Ross, of Charing Cross, was the first Canadian Late Model Shootout winner in 2008.
Louisville’s Jim Fletcher won the 2012 Modified Shootout, ending Brian Ruhlman’s four-year reign as the Clarklake, Mich., won the each of the first four years.
