The first inductees to the South Buxton Raceway Alumni Hall of Fame takes place this Saturday night.
The inaugural Hall of Fame class is a ‘Who’s Who’ in Raleigh Raceway-South Buxton Raceway history, starting with Joe Atkinson and Dennis Pook, who built the facility in 1971.
They will be joined by former drivers Larry Atkinson, Fred Chambers, Gord DeWael, Brent Gibbons, Gord Gotelaer, Don Hendricks, Al McCully, Jim Morlog and John Reynolds.
We’ll honour our Class of 2014 with a pre-race ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Following the induction ceremony, the Best Appearing Car awards will be presented to the top three in balloting in each class from the fan vote conducted on Opening Night.
Plan to come out early on Saturday so you can get a good seat for the Alumni Hall Of Fame and Best Appearing car ceremonies.
