The calendar says July, but we say it’s Christmas!
It’s Christmas In July this Saturday night at South Buxton Raceway, with presents to all a lot of the good little girls and boys from a special visitor from the North.
And, to get in the mood for Christmas In July, it’s time to go carolling with some of our favourite Christmas Racin’ Songs.
- God Start Ye Engines, Gentlemen
- O Little Town Of Buxton
- Checkereds Roasting On An Open Fire
- Deck The Walls
- Winner Wonderland
- The First Joel
- We Wish You A Mario Christmas
- Hark The Gerald Martin Sing
- Frosty The Flagman
- Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell Wreck
- It Came Upon A ‘Clear-Clear-Clear’
- I Saw Mommy Spinning Santa Claus
One thing we know it won’t be on Saturday, and that’s a Silent Night - not with five exciting classes in action!
As a special holiday treat, we’ll have seven feature races in total - including double features for the Schinkels Gourmet Meats UMP Modifieds and Westside Performance Plus UMP Late Models from last Saturday’s rain shortened night.
The Modifieds and Late Models will run their mid-season championships early in the race night and their regular features after intermission.
The Tirecraft Sport Stocks, Tirecraft Mini-Mods and Autotech Bombers will have regular races after beating the rain last Saturday.
There will be lots of extra giveaways for fans, including some bikes and scooters.
Head up to the attic or get down in the crawl space and pull out some of your favourite Christmas attire to wear for the night - T-shirts, sweaters, Santa hats, antlers, etc. - to really get into the spirit.
And since Christmas is a time for giving…
South Buxton management is asking fans to bring items of your choice to donate to local charities - unwrapped new toys, used winter coats or non-perishable food items to help the Chatham Goodfellows, Operation Cover-Up and local food banks.
These items can be dropped off at the front gate. We hope everyone brings at least one item to help those less fortunate.
The gates open at 5 p.m. and the sleighs hit the track at 7 p.m. on Christmas In July this Saturday night.
